John Kothe - Director
Business Development
John has almost 30 years experience in general management over a broad range of businesses.
John facilitates training in sales, marketing and general staff management fields but his principle role in our organisation is concentrated around the internal company management and business development locally and internationally.
With experience gained from lecturing at universities both locally and internationally, John has a solid grounding in training. As a coastguard volunteer and accredited tutor he facilitates numerous maritime related programmes. John's formal qualifications include a Bsc and an MBA enabling him to share a wealth of knowledge from both personal experience and formal education.
Andy McMeeking - Consultant
Retail Operations Specialist
Andy has over thirty years' retail experience in a variety of retail disciplines: namely general merchandise, apparel, the building industry, specialist jewellery retail and outdoor power equipment.
As a retail consultant, he has worked with some of New Zealand's leading retailers and has both local and international experience.Andy has a business degree in Human Resource Management.
Andy currently works in the areas of individual and group management development, customer service and selling, channel to market strategies, retail business planning, visual merchandising and promoting and marketing retail businesses.
Elaine McMeeking - Consultant

Elaine started Retail Training formally McMeeking Training and Development over 10 years ago. She continues to work with many of New Zealand's leading Retailers in the areas of training program design and facilitation, leadership skills development, customer service, performance management, management development and coaching.
Elaine has an Honours degree in Training Management. She has over twenty five years' experience in Retail Learning and Development. Her experience is both local and international.
Denise Overend-Clarke
Facilitation and Course Development Specialist
Denise has been involved in training retail employees since 1989 when she took up a "train the trainer" position with a nationwide health and fitness training organisation. She has presented seminars throughout Australia and New Zealand and has gained a reputation for her ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively. Denise had a diploma in Sports Studies and is currently completing a Bachelor of Psychology .
With a background in managing small businesses, Denise moved into corporate training in 1999 and has worked closely with a number of our retail clients including Dick Smith Electronics, Briscoe Group and others. Denise facilitates a number of our Management Development Programs

Nikki Hommes

Nikki’s training & facilitation career has spanned the hospitality, financial services, reinsurance, and retail industries in South Africa, Mauritius, and New Zealand.
Nikki has formal qualifications in Hospitality, Life, Executive & Workplace Coaching, Training & Facilitation, and Business. During her years of working within the Financial Services Industry she achieved an MBA, with a dissertation focusing on ‘Coaching and Mentoring in the Workplace’
Nikki is involved in development of training frameworks, design of content and facilitation of programmes and ROI to business. Her field of training ranges from sales, management and leadership disciplines supported by coaching, to TetraMap facilitation (Behavioural Performance Profiling). As a facilitator Nikki brings fun to interactive and application-based learning sessions that will stimulate you, make you want to know more and return to work and ACT! Your ideas, current practices and thoughts will be challenged – stretching you a little further than you thought you could go.

Michael Johnson
Retail Operations Specialist
Mike has over 30 years retail management experience since commencing as a trainee manager for Woolworths, with a career that has included senior operations roles in department stores , discount stores , apparel and duty free stores.
Since setting up in business three years ago his primary areas of focus are business advice and training – and works with shopping centre operators as well as other national clients.
With a fun/positive style he is able to facilitate training programmes and analyse business performance in an efficient/effective manner.
Through his experience he brings the retail knowledge required to give clients practical advice to improve their business.
